Our Heritage: A Charleston Legacy, 150 Years Of Soap Making In The Low Country Our story began more than 150 years ago in Charleston South Carolina, where our family cultivated soap through processes like Leaching wood ash or fat rendering. They sold the soap in the marketplace, door to door and by any other means out of necessity. What began generations ago, was more than a way of making a living -it became part of our family's story. Today, June 4th Soaps proudly carries that legacy forward with organic hand crafted soaps, essential oils, dessert candles and perfumes created with the same love, care and oral traditions pass down through our family.
